From the 1960s when he was a funeral director, to the 1970s – 1990s when he built the UK’s largest privately owned (and then publicly quoted) funeral business. He won numerous awards and accolades in the process.

In 2003 he formed Memoria to develop crematoria and memorial parks which would deliver better standards of service and facility to the public than had ever been experienced before. Consequently, the innovation that he brought to British funerals, was then put to work to create the most tranquil and well-served crematoria in the UK. Today, his experience and achievements remain unrivalled in the funeral industry.

Memoria is not an insurance company, however, Memoria’s Funeral Plans are backed by an insurance company. They are as safe and as regulated as those offered by an insurance company. However, the actual service is supplied by Memoria itself. This means that it can guarantee the standard received and the price paid because of its celebrated experience and the fact that it has the power to control every function and cost (unlike other plan providers). So the prices quoted are what you pay in TOTAL. There are no hidden charges or ‘get out’ clauses and the service is guaranteed to be 5 star.

Memoria judges its success by its levels of satisfaction rather than it’s levels of profit because it believes the first leads to the second. You could not place your peace of mind in safer hands.

Truelove Funeral Plans

Perhaps it was the opening of Britain’s first crematorium in Woking in 1885 that inspired Walter Andrew Truelove and his wife, Annie, in that same year, to move into Alma Cottage in Vernon Road in the Newtown area of Sutton and establish the funeral directing and monumental masonry business now known as W.A. Truelove & Son Ltd. Truelove now operate a number of branches in England. Funeral Plan Market only compare prices of national funeral plan providers and therefore Truelove Funeral Plans are not listed on the comparison and results tables.
